Beekeeper Gatis Graudužs' apiary is located in Rucava municipality and uses nature-friendly methods in working with bees, which gives greater confidence in the quality of the product and its beneficial effect on health. Beekeeping has been his main occupation for more than six years, but his love for bees goes back to childhood, when he looked after his grandfather's bee colonies together with him. The apiary produces multifloral honey. Especially valuable and rich in flavour is heather honey from Pape Nature Park. It has a slightly bitter, intense taste and a jelly-like texture. During pressing, valuable bee bread also ends up in the honey. Honey can be used not only in your everyday diet but also, following our own tried-and-tested recipes, to make honey blends that support immunity and health. In small quantities the apiary also produces natural multivitamins - bee bread, propolis and pollen. Beeswax candles are made to order to ensure quality and so that the unique aroma of the wax can be enjoyed more strongly, not only while burning. Together with his family, the beekeeper runs candle-making workshops, travelling to the customer. Visits to schools and kindergartens have always been a great success. The beekeeper tells the children about the life of bees and working with them, followed by a tasting of bee products. During the season the farm also grows berries (strawberries, cherries), vegetables and flowers. In the Latvian Beekeepers Association's "Beekeeper of the Year" competition the apiary won the main prize in the "Young Beekeeper 2015" category.Products: • Light summer honey: 0.25L, 0.5L, 1L. • Autumn heather honey: 0.25l, 0.5l, 1l. • Honey blend with ginger: 0.25l.• Bee bread (frozen).
